What a striking intense colour. I don’t think I’ve seen a rhodie that shade before. Pinks, reds and frilly lilacs and purples, yes, but flaming orange, nope. Lovely.

It was my first experience of this one, and I was enchanted first by its delicious perfume, believe it or not — and then followed my nose to discover the bright, exotic beauty of the shrub, itself. :)

That’s like having a pool of sunshine in the garden! Lovely, Meredith!

  4. I never would have guessed azalea. I agree, no words needed…but the image tag was nice to have! Stunning photo, and wonderful warm colors.

I thought I needed to give tags, CV, because the buds were photographed in such a strange way as to cut them off from all references and give them a slightly alien appearance. I’m glad they helped in figuring out the shot. :)

      Thank you for the compliment!

Sweet Bay, I confess that was why I chose that shot. It looked like modern art to me when it popped up on my screen, and I didn’t even need to edit the photo, the colors were already wild and, as you say, psychedelic. The rest of the photos of this beauty were rather staid comparatively. :)

  10. Edith Hope says:

Dear Meredith, A positively volcanic Azalea!!

    • Meredith says:

Indeed, Edith. I was blown away by its hot brightness. Yes, pun intended. ;)

Hoping you are not having any unfortunate side effects from the real volcano eruption ongoing over the pond…

Kathy, I’m so glad I inspire you. What a kind compliment you’ve paid me! I must say I think being passionately in love with the flowers and plants seems to cover a lot of sins in photos, to my great relief. ;)

It’s a great shot and what a gorgeous colour!
