"The moment one gives close attention to any thing, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.”
~Henry Miller
It’s a day of pure joy. When the wind blows and sets the whole green forest to dancing, I’m sure my soul can no longer fit within its boundaries, but must go out and share.
Do you know the feeling I’m talking about?
(from "riches", April 2010)

While that question is probably a little difficult to answer in a paragraph (or even in a lifetime), I can tell you that my name is Meredith, and that I love to ponder life's mystery and beauty and joys and then write about them. This blog is all about my interactions with Nature during my walks in the woods, visits to Botanical Gardens, in my own small, organic kitchen garden -- and anywhere else I happen to be when inspiration strikes.

Beautiful image, Meredith! I so agree with the quote too.
It’s a great quote; isn’t it? Glad you liked the picture, too, Serena.
I agree.

Philip, that is so sweet. I’m glad you liked the shot!
Namaste.
Oh, I love this saying. Sometimes people roll their eyes at how the simple things in life make me so happy….but I am proud of it and hope to always be that way

Noelle / azplantlady´s last blog ..A Harvest of Apples
Noelle, stay true to who you are, definitely. (I like her.
) Simple is beautiful!
Beautiful photo–I love the way the flower is lighted. I also enjoy how you change your page header (right word?) periodically.
Kathy´s last blog ..The Art of Artful Journaling
Kathy, thanks for the nice feedback. I’ve been fiddling with the header ever since I came back from my break, and I think I finally found one to stick with for at least a couple of weeks. I’m glad you enjoy the variety.
My favourite flower. It’s beautiful.
Rosalind Adam´s last blog ..Aims and objectives of a party
Rosalind, I’m so glad to give you a glimpse of your favorite, then. The single-flowered roses have such a pure beauty.

Wendy´s last blog ..Graces summer garden
Wendy, I think you just have to take a lot of pictures. Then you can throw out all the ones that don’t capture the light to your satisfaction.

I’m having a bit of fun
before you kick me out
and send me on the run
simplicity sophistication
wow now that is what I call two
sophistication simplicity
those are not hard for me to do
Simplicity is when
I cook out back
I like my ribs done
not burnt or black
My neighbor wont mine,
till he gets out of the pen
Hack I’ll have his cooker
back in his yard, by then
My washing I’ll hang on
that old cloths line
you won’t catch me using a dryer
for I’m plume out of dimes
sophistication now that I have,
no matter what the others say
I never go anywhere without my
snot rag in my pocket on display
I keep my pinky stuck out
If I’m pouring you gin
And I only use my shirt tail
When wiping my chin
So it’s simple to see
Not everyone can be
A sophistication simpleton like me
Did I say that last line right????
desk49/Ellis´s last blog ..Waitress
LOL, Ellis, a “sophistication simpleton,” huh? Good for you for drying your clothes out in the fresh air. That’s getting to be the chic choice, you know, for environmental reasons. Soon all the best houses will be hanging clotheslines from the trees (at least, that’s my hope).
What is “sophisticated” by cultural standards changes so much over time. “Snot rags” used to be all the rage — only they were called handkerchiefs.
